Danner Launches ‘Expert Overhaul’

Fans Help Rebuild a Classic American Truck to Expert-Grade Standards

PORTLAND, Ore., May 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Danner, Inc., a subsidiary of LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. (Nasdaq: BOOT), a leading provider of branded work and outdoor footwear for expert users, launches “Expert Overhaul.” Danner has developed a unique program to engage fans in a complete frame-off rebuild of a 1974 International Scout, to be restored to the expert-grade standards customers have come to expect from Danner. Fans are asked to kick off the joint project on June 1, 2007 with an online voting tool to make initial overhaul decisions.

“The International Scout is a premium quality, American-made truck,” said Erron Sorensen, vice president of marketing for Danner. “Because we at Danner value authenticity, precision and heritage, we’re asking fans to help our Overhaul Team restore this off-road classic with the same quality and craftsmanship Danner customers know and love from the brand. And then we’re simply going to give away the keys to a lucky fan.”

Danner is working with some of the best auto overhaul professionals to restore the Scout. Most car buffs know that a frame-off rebuild calls for extreme attention to detail and patience, which is why Danner has committed to this labor-intensive process, to ensure the truck is built to Danner’s expert-grade standards.

The Danner Overhaul Crew has called upon fans to help rebuild the Scout at www.dannerscout.com. The very first Expert Overhaul polling question will be submitted online on June 1, 2007. Fans will be able to choose if the truck should be built “stock” or “sport.” The choice will determine whether the Scout will be rebuilt in a traditional style or with a modern off-road sport package. Traditionalists can choose to stick with the classic build, while some fans may want to see what the Scout can do fully equipped with modern off-road features. As the process gets underway, Danner will continue to poll fans and enthusiasts on interior and exterior options.

Up-to-the-minute restoration details and video can be found online in various sections of the Web site, including: rebuild information on the “Garage” page, meet the Overhaul Crew and Danner Experts on the “Experts” page, and learn more about International Scout history on “the Scout” page.

Once the Expert Overhaul rebuild is underway, Danner will prepare to give away the keys. The sweepstakes begins October 1, 2007. Unique entry codes can be obtained at participating retailers that carry Danner products and submitted online at www.dannerscout.com. All entries must be received by the final sweepstakes date of December 31, 2007. Additional contest details, participating retailers and online entry forms can also be found online. The winner will be selected at random January 15, 2008.
