MILWAUKEE — Surveillance video captured an inmate attacking a Milwaukee County Jail corrections officer Monday night.
According to the agency’s Facebook, the CO noticed the inmate, 19, was acting bizarre, sliding on her back in the upper pod. The inmate refused to go back to her cell, prompting the officer to call for backup.
The inmate came down the stairs and attacked the CO before backup arrived, according to the sheriff’s office. The officer’s colleague used a TASER to detain the inmate.
The CO was treated at a hospital for superficial scrapes and contusions and shoulder pain.
The inmate, who was initially in custody for battery, faces another battery charge for assaulting the officer.
