Search of Ala. facility turns up hidden ammunition after smuggling attempt

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. — Follow the arrest of three people attempting to smuggle contraband into the St. Clair County Correctional Facility, a shakedown of the prison turned up more surprises.

Officials released the information that they found ammunition inside the facility, but would not say where or what type, according to AL.com.

The three arrested on contraband smuggling charges are Anthony Little, Drevan Jones and Tanie Nicole Wright.

A correctional officer witnessed them throwing something over the facility’s fence, and authorities later recovered several packages containing two handguns, cell phones and drugs.

The DOC investigation does not indicate any involvement by facility employees.
