ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Another local corrections officer is facing criminal charges for allegedly having sex with an inmate at the Metropolitan Detention Center.

Marsha Hunt-Griego, 28, had been working as a corrections officer since November 2007, spokeswoman Nataura Powdrell said. She was placed on administrative leave Aug. 11 after officials intercepted correspondence between her and an inmate.

Powdrell said she couldn’t comment on MDC’s internal investigation, but Hunt-Griego was fired Sept. 30.

She was indicted Dec. 15 on three counts of criminal sexual penetration of an inmate, according to court records, and she pleaded not guilty during arraignment proceedings Monday.

Another MDC corrections officer, who might have become pregnant by an inmate, was indicted last month for allegedly having sex with the man under her authority, according to court documents.

Reyna Lujan, 29, is charged with three counts of criminal sexual penetration (position of authority) for allegedly causing inmate Erik Braman, 29, to have sex with her. She was placed on administrative leave and resigned.
