MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The man believed to have smuggled a loaded gun into the Milwaukee County Jail has been arrested.

FOX News reports that Destyn Montaque arrived at the county jail with the gun in a walking boot cast he was wearing on his leg, according to authorities.

Montaque changed into his jail-issued clothing in an area not visible to correctional officers. He was then taken to the jail infirmary where he asked an officer to turn off the lights. Surveillance video captures Montaque taking an object off his bed, a gray balled up t-shirt, and then tossing it into the laundry bin.

The weapon, wrapped in the shirt, was later found by an inmate sorting clothes and turned over to authorities.

Montaque bragged about getting the gun into the jail and tossing it before getting caught.

Recorded calls placed by Montaque at the jail have him saying “tell them I still got what I got” and “I dumped the [expletive].”

Montaque is facing a charge of possession of a firearm by a felon, repeater and carrying a concealed weapon, repeater.
