RED BAY, Ala. — Police say a man visiting his wife in jail is facing charges after pills were found in a cheeseburger he was trying to bring into the building.
Red Bay Police Chief Jana Jackson told the Times Daily of Florence Monday that 31-year-old Timothy Lee Thompson of Red Bay is charged with promoting prison contraband and could face additional charges.
Lt. Scotty Belue says oxycodone pills were found between two patties in a burger Thompson brought with him to the city jail. Jackson says Thompson had recently been released from jail on charges of theft by deception.
It’s unclear if Thompson has an attorney and a phone number isn’t listed for him.
