Lloyd Nguyen, DBA

Lloyd Nguyen, DBA, is a former Marine and Air Force veteran who has 25 plus years of law enforcement experience with the Orange County (California) Sheriff’s Department (OCSD). As a sergeant for the OCSD, his duty assignments include custody, OCDA’s regional gang task force, patrol, statewide transportation, John Wayne Airport Police Services, and currently, Laguna Niguel Police Services.

Sergeant Nguyen served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps with a combat deployment in the Persian
Gulf War (1990-1991). He continued to serve his country years later from 2009-2020 in the U.S. Air
Force Reserve.

Sergeant Nguyen believes in applying theoretical/conceptual research with practical application. Hence, his education background includes a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) in Homeland Security Leadership and Policy from Northcentral University; a Master’s degree in Behavioral Science, Negotiation and Conflict Management from California State University, Dominguez Hills; a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton; and three Associate’s degrees in Social Studies, Knowledge Information Management and General Studies. In addition, he has attended military leadership schools to include Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO), Senior NCO, Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, and Senior Joint Professional Military Education. Dr. Nguyen has completed his doctoral dissertation, The Impact of Information and Intelligence Sharing between a Local Law Enforcement Agency and a Fusion Center: A Qualitative Case Study, and has submitted his approved dissertation to ProQuest for publishing.
