IONIA, Mich. — Investigators have wrapped up their probe into the incident of bullets found on an inmate’s food tray, but on one has been charged.

The bullets were discovered on Dec. 9 as trays were being delivered to prisoners in their cells, reports MLive.

Food prep in the state is conducted by Aramark Correctional Services, which is in the midst of a 3-year, $145 million contract with the state that expires in 2016.

Investigators looked at everyone involved in the process, including Aramark employees, but were unable to determine responsibility or motive for placing the bullets on the tray.

Spokesperson Chris Gautz said that the investigation is now in the hands of the Michigan State Police, which is conducting tests on the bullets for DNA or fingerprints.
