Centralia, Mo. — An inmate in a prisoner transport vehicle suffered minor injuries Friday after an accident near Centralia.

The prisoner transport bus, a 2003 Chevrolet driven by Stephen G. Gilltrap, 54, of Mexico, Mo., was traveling eastbound on Highway 22 near Highway 151 at about 2:20 p.m. Friday when a 2003 Mitsubishi driven by Holly N. Lindsey, 27, of Bethel failed to stop at a stop sign and struck the driver’s side of the bus.

An inmate in the vehicle, Robert E. Baldwin, 41, of Moberly, suffered minor injuries and was treated at Audrain Medical Center.

Baldwin escaped Reality House, an alternative sentencing facility in Boone County, in 2004 by climbing the facility’s recreation yard fence. He was later apprehended by Boone County sheriff’s deputies and was sentenced in 2005 to five years in prison for forgery and three years in prison for escaping a prison facility.
