The sheriff’s office received an emergency call that a woman was shot around 5 a.m. Wednesday. Fuss said the sheriff’s department is searching for 30-year-old Anthony Antwan Bowen. Officers said he in a person of interest in the case.

Fuss would not say whether the two knew each other, citing the department’s ongoing investigation.

From her home in Leland, Bowen’s mother told reporters she didn’t know where her son had gone.
