ELYRIA, Ohio — A corrections officer at the Lorain County Girls Detention Home made history as the first black officer to retire from the county’s courts system with full benefits.
The officer, Robyn Newton-Wright, 54, received a plaque during a ceremony Thursday that recognized her service, devotion, and commitment to the organization.
