Prisoner walks away from work assignment

LEBANON, Ohio — A man serving a year in prison for burglary has reportedly walked away from Lebanon Correctional Institution.

Stephen Ramey, 35, walked away from his garage work assignment as an auto mechanic at the facility on Ohio 63 just before noon Tuesday, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Ramey is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall, 190 pounds with sandy hair and blue eyes. Emergency scanner traffic indicated that he may have been wearing tan work pants and a white work shirt with DRC on the back when he escaped.

He was last seen at 11: 50 a.m.

Ramey was admitted to the facility in March for a one-year term, according to Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction records.

His expected release date was Jan. 17, 2014.

Ramey’s conviction is out of Montgomery County and he is from Riverside.
