MINNEHAHA COUNTY, S.D. — Both inmates accused of killing Correctional Officer Ronald Johnson are now on hunger strikes in the Minnehaha County Jail.
The Minnehaha County Sheriff confirmed the jail is monitoring Eric Robert and Rodney Berget to make sure their health and well-being is in tact and they’ve received permission to intervene if it’s medically necessary to keep them alive.
Robert and Berget face murder charges in connection with Officer Johnson’s death and could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted.
