NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Community Corrections is currently looking for more than 1,900 probation or parole violators across the state.
Arkansas Matters reports that those who are on parole or probation who do not report to their officers within 90 days, the ACC will issue a warrant for their arrest.
The absconders are putting communities on edge. Mary Ann Conley, 70, says she’s had four break-ins and burglaries at her North Little Rock home in just one year.
She’s since upgraded to bars across her windows, new locks on her doors and some specialty windows to deter criminals. She also prominently displays a warning that trespassers will be shot.
“I’m not afraid to shoot. I will do it,” she said, stating that she’d rather have a gun in her hand than the police on the phone.
