TERRE HAUTE, Ind. — An inmate serving a life sentence for running a drug ring from the New Castle state prison has been charged with doing the same thing from the state prison in Michigan City.

Federal prosecutors say Wesley “FeFe” Hammond, 42, used a contraband cellphone to operate a major Terre Haute methamphetamine and cocaine ring from his prison cell.

Hammond was one of 15 suspects arrested Tuesday. If convicted, they could face life without parole.
