ORLANDO, Fla. — A Florida man tried to make it difficult for officers looking to fingerprint him when he attempted to chew off the skin of his fingertips following an arrest.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, 20-year-old Kenzo Roberts was arrested by officers after police said they found him driving a stolen 2015 Mercedes. Following the arrest, video footage showed Roberts trying to rub and bite his fingertips in order to avoid the scan once they made it to the station.

Police said that officers found Roberts “chewing his skin and rubbing his hands against the cage” in order to make his fingerprints indiscernible. They also found a fraudulent ID, three fraudulent credit cards, and a firearm among Roberts’ possessions.

After scanning his fingerprints, police found that Roberts had two felony warrants linked to an aggravated arrest with a deadly weapon charge in Broward County.

Roberts was charged with three counts of possession of a counterfeit credit card, grand theft auto, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of similitude of a driver’s license, driving with a suspended license, and giving false identification to law enforcement. Police added that Roberts was in the country illegally and the border patrol was alerted.
