DETROIT — A dad, who was about to give a victim impact statement in the sentencing of the two people accused in his 3-year-old daughter’s death, punched one of the defendants during a court hearing.
According to Detroit Free Press, the father, Dwayne Smith, punched Clifford Thomas in the head. They were quickly separated.
The child’s mother, Jasmine Gordon, who was also convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the toddler’s death, began crying and yelling “Jesus!” after the punch was thrown.
