GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — CO Amanda Baker, who was choked to death by a juvenile inmate, was honored during a statewide ceremony to commemorate the passing of law enforcement officials in the line of duty.
According to Gering Citizen, the ceremony was held on Monday, May 12, at Fire Station #1 in Grand Island on the grounds of the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial.
Her name, along with those of Union Pacific Railroad Special Agent William Ransom and Oconto Town Marshal Frederick Schlote, was added to the Nebraska Law Enforcement Memorial.
The total number of names etched in the granite walls now numbers at 137.
