DENVER, Colo.— A man who was barricaded himself inside a residence in southeast Colorado Springs for about six hours Friday night was one of two Colorado Department of Corrections inmates who walked away from a job site in Denver Thursday afternoon.
Officials identified the man as Adolfo Lopez, 38. He was previously convicted in El Paso County on drug abuse charges.
Colorado Springs police units responded to the 2400 block of Delta Drive, off Hancock Expressway, near Monterey Road, around 4:30 p.m. to assist with state parole, according to police.
According to the Department of Corrections, Lopez was apprehended about 10:30 p.m. Friday night. The Office of the Inspector General, the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, the Colorado Springs Police Department, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, and SWAT all assisted with the apprehension.
Colorado Springs police and officers from the Colorado Department of Corrections took Manuel Rodriguez, 32, into custody Friday morning in Colorado Springs. Rodriguez was convicted of forgery, identity theft and burglary in El Paso County.
