BRIDGEPORT, Conn. — Police said a fired corrections officer threatened to “shoot up” the Bridgeport Correctional Center.

Christopher Anello, 28, of Norwalk, was charged Tuesday with second-degree threatening and second-degree breach of peace. He was released on a written promise to appear in court.

Anello declined comment on his arrest.

Connecticut State Police said Anello, a probationary corrections officer, was fired at the corrections center Monday night.

Right after the firing, another corrections officer notified supervisors that Anello had previously told her, “If I get walked out of this place, I’m going to shoot this place up,” State Police said.

State Police said Anello, who has a valid gun permit, has seven guns registered to him.

Police went to Anello’s home, where they said they seized the guns along with two, 30-round magazines.
