MONTGOMERY, Ala. — A drug raid at a Montgomery home turned up 19 pounds of marijuana and $30,000 in cash.

Authorities said Friday morning’s search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into contraband at Fountain Correctional Facility and ended in one arrest.

Alabama Department of Corrections investigators carried out the raid at the residence at 8303 Fairhaven Lane. ALEA’s SWAT team assisted in the operation.

The investigation stemmed from an arrest made several weeks ago involving contraband believed to be intended for Fountain Correctional Facility. Intelligence and evidence developed during that investigation led agents to the Fairhaven Lane home in Montgomery.

Former inmate Patrick O’Neal Perry, 32, of Montgomery, was taken into custody at the scene. He is charged with trafficking marijuana.

Perry was booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
