Cell phone charger spliced into dorm T.V.

This prison-made contraband (cell phone charger) was discovered when conducting a routine check of the dormitory television sitting area. I noticed lots of books that appeared out of place that were piled near the televison area. This prompted me to flip through the books in search of possible contraband and I soon discovered this device displayed in the photo below attached to the power cord on the back of the television. The inmates spliced and placed the purple and white wires on the proper sides to produce an effective charger.

The black cord in the photo that appeared to be tied up is the actual charger for a unknown cell phone make/model. The black plastic that is located in this photograph was used as camouflage to conceal the prison-made cell phone device along with a rubber band to hold the plastic in place to conceal the circuit board. The key to to finding contraband is remaining vigilant, roving your cell blocks, paying attention to body language and building a relationship with good undercover(inmate) spy to help you out here/there to find contraband. I’m one of the most effective officers at my facility when it comes to locating contraband with almost two-years under my belt. I learned from many key senior officer at my facility.
