CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — Officials in Tennessee found an illegal marijuana grow operation with the help of a hand-drawn map from an inmate.

Montgomery County Sheriff Deputy Amanda Pierce was searching an inmate’s book for hidden messages before allowing the offender to give it to a visitor, according to NewsChannel5.

As she was going through the book, she noticed a map with directions on it.

After following the instructions, officials said they were lead directly to marijuana plants growing on two separate farms.

The inmate who drew the map was already in jail on charges of running an indoor marijuana grow operation.
