Pa. DOC announces lockdown of all state correctional facilities
Staff required to use protective gear, gloves

HARRISBURG, Pa. — Pennsylvania Department of Corrections Secretary John Wetzel announced all state correctional facilities were under lockdown Wednesday afternoon as a result of multiple cases of staff and inmate exposure to unidentified substances over the last month.
As a result of the lockdown, all DOC mailrooms will be closed, use of protective equipment and gloves is mandatory for all employees, all facilities will hold immediate situational awareness training and all visits will be suspended until the lockdown is over.
