5th Ohio corrections officer dies from COVID-19

Terry Loomis, 62, worked as a corrections officer at Lake Erie Correctional Institute for 18 years

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Another Ohio corrections officer has died from COVID-19.

FOX8.com reported that Terry Loomis, 62, worked as a corrections officer at Lake Erie Correctional Institute, a privately-operated prison, for 18 years. He had been in the hospital battling COVID-19 since May 24.

Loomis is the fifth prison employee to die from COVID-19 in the state.
