NAPLES — A nurse with the Lee and Collier County jails was arrested Sunday after she was accused of smuggling drugs to an inmate she was in a relationship with.

The News-Press reports that Robin Yanda, 25, was arrested on seven counts of smuggling contraband into a detention facility. She was allegedly giving the drugs to Robert Loveland, 24, who is currently jailed on murder charges.

Yanda worked as a part-time nurse through Armor Correctional Health Services.

Yanda and Loveland had more than 290 phone conversations while he has been in jail, going back to November. During these conversations, the two talked about how Yanda could get better at sneaking items into the jail.

Deputies said Yanda would hide drugs between two pieces of bread and wrap it in paper towels to make it look like she was giving Loveland a diabetic snack.
