HONOLULU, Hawaii — An inmate has been arrested after putting a nurse in a chokehold at Oahu Community Correctional Center.
According to the Department of Public Safety, John Fuimaono grabbed the nurse in a chokehold while being evaluated in the health care unit on Tuesday, Jan. 20.
While adult corrections officers distracted Fuimaono, officials said the nurse was able to push him away and escape. ACOs immediately restrained Fuimaono and notified sheriffs.
The entire incident lasted five minutes.
