RALEIGH, N.C. — A self-proclaimed Satanist accused of burying two bodies in his backyard was found dead around 3 a.m. Wednesday inside his cell at Central Prison in Raleigh.
Pazuzu Algarad was found unresponsive with a wound to his arm, according to FOX News. Authorities did not say if the wound was self-inflicted. He was pronounced dead at 4:20 a.m. after attempts to resuscitate him failed.
Algarad and girlfriend Amber Burch were arrested on Oct. 5, 2014, and charged in the murder and burial of two men at their home.
The story made national headlines after authorities released a video of inside Algarad’s home, which showed animal carcasses and moldy ceilings. Algarad allegedly performed “Satanic rituals” and animal sacrifices at the house regularly.
The home has since been demolished and the empty lot is still for sale.
