SHELBYVILLE, Ind. — Community Corrections staff Brittany Fannin and Lindsay Devine combined forces to secure funding for a Little Free Library and a Blessing Box outside their building.

“By Friday, we’re going to have a little free library and a blessing box near our front doors on the east side of the building,” Devine said. “This isn’t just for our participants to use, those who come into Corrections, but for the whole community. We’re trying to show that we are a safe place for the community.”

“I also just wanted to say the $25,000, the biggest part of that grant, was to sponsor at-risk youth we identified in the community through other agencies, so we’ve been able to provide transportation opportunities, help kids get into drivers education, and we wanted to provide this, as well,” Fannin said.
