BATON ROUGE, La. — A probation and parole agent was killed in a single vehicle crash Monday.

ODMP.org reported that Agent Kaitlin Cowley, 30, who had served with the Louisiana Department of Corrections for three years, was leaving an assignment at 6:30 p.m. when the crash occurred. She was assisting at the Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women with inmate security.

Cowley sustained fatal injuries after her car left the roadway and struck a tree, according to the report.

Cowley leaves behind her husband, parents and brother.
