WARREN COUNTY, Ohio — A man convicted of torturing and killing a mother of six recently came up for parole, and public response was nearly overwhelming.

Local 12 reports that more than 3,000 people emailed and wrote to the Ohio Parole Board, encouraging denying Genis McGuire parole after he killed Ellen New.

McGuire and another man stabbed New more than 60 times before dumping her body.

The parole board heard his case Tuesday, Oct. 28; a decision has not been announced.
