Ala. inmate released by accident turns self back in

Russell Co., Ala. — A Russell County Jail inmate who was mistakenly released by jail employees last week has turned himself back into the Russell County Jail.

According to Sheriff Heath Taylor, Cimarron Lamb turned himself late this afternoon. He was previously in jail as the suspected get away driver in the botched robbery of the Rainbow Foods robbery two weeks ago that left two people shot.

Earlier today Sheriff Taylor talked about Lamb walking out of the jail, “This was not an escape from the facility,” Taylor said, “This was an accidental release on my employees part we have already taken some action as far as that goes in the jail and we’ve already suspended some employees..”
