MAUI, Hawaii — An inmate who tried to make a break for it while being transported to a pretrial hearing was stopped by a quick thinking corrections officer.
Inmate Kristopher Sharrott was in full shackles during transport, but upon arrival, had managed to get himself free, according to the Hawaii Reporter. He took off running as soon as the vehicle’s doors were open.
