COLUMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — Honoring a Columbia County correctional officer killed in the line of duty.
Today the community gathered for a memorial service for 24-year-old Sergeant Ruben Thomas. He died when an inmate stabbed him two years ago.
It happened while he was working at Columbia Correctional Institution in Lake City. Channel 4’s Crystal Moyer was there, at today’s memorial.
