LARIMER COUNTY, Colo — Four inmates accused of throwing feces at deputies and then flooding their cells at the Larimer County Jail last month have been charged with rioting and hazardous waste violations.

The Nov. 20 incident ended peacefully after jail commander Capt. Tim Palmer spoke to the inmates, who then surrendered.

“During the disturbance the inmates threw fecal matter throughout the common area and flooded their cells which resulted in the flooding of the common area. The inmates then refused to follow commands and barricaded themselves in their cells,” the Larimer County Sheriff’s office said in a statement.
