PORTLAND, Maine — The Cumberland County Jail received a high score during its inspection by auditors from the American Corrections Association earlier this week.
Sheriff Kevin Joyce announced Friday the 570-bed facility earned a score of 99.85 percent during the inspections on Monday and Tuesday.
The inspections consisted of jail operations, sanitation, health care, food service, tool and chemical controls, weapon accountability, training, fire safety, policies and procedures, Joyce explained.
