NEWBURG, Ore. — An Oregon man panhandling on the sidewalk for an organ has drawn attention from an unlikely place — death row.
Notorious inmate Christian Longo — who was convicted of murdering his wife and three children in 2001 — offered to help end Kevin Gray’s quest for a kidney by being his organ donor.
“I noticed your story on Kevin Gray’s drive to find a kidney donor. There are several local inmates who would be willing to be tested & donate, myself being amongst them,” Longo wrote to local station KGW.
