HOUSTON — The convictions of two men condemned for the deaths of law enforcement officers have been upheld by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
According to KBTX.com, the appeals from Daniel Lopez and Jerry Martin were rejected Wednesday.
Lopez was condemned for running down Lt. Stuart Alexander during a car chase, while Alexander was deploying spike strips on a highway to stop him.
Martin and a fellow inmate stole a truck while on a prison work detail in 2007 and drove into a horse carrying Corrections Officer Susan Canfield. Canfield was killed, but the prison escape failed.
