ELMIRA, N.Y. – The lockdown at the Elmira Correctional Facility has been lifted.
The New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision says the lockdown was lifted last Friday after the facility had been locked down for a week. The lockdown started after corrections officers were tipped off to an elaborate escape plan, and a search of the facility found several weapons.
