JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A former Florida corrections officer has been convicted on several counts of possessing child pornography.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s authorities said they downloaded two child porn videos from an IP address registered to 40 year-old Leon Perry Brooks. Authorities seized the computers of the former Jacksonville Sheriff’s corrections officer and said they found multiple videos of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct on two computers.
A jury found Brooks guilty on four counts Wednesday. He faces a maximum of ten years in federal prison for each count.
A sentencing date has not been set.
The case was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse
