ORANGE PARK — A Florida Department of Corrections officer is facing charges related to a road rage incident on Sunday.
The Florida Times-Union reports that Sean Hayes is accused of getting out of his car, going up to the driver’s side of the victim’s car and punching the victim in the face.
The victim’s wife witnessed the assault and said a Jacksonville sheriff’s officer in a marked vehicle was behind Hayes when it happened.
There were no details on what sparked the incident. The victim had no visible signs of injury but told officers that his chin hurt after the punch.
Hayes was transported to the Clay County jail and charge with battery.
