ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A 14-year-old boy who refused to leave bed and attend school was arrested, according to The Smoking Gun.

His mother called police for assistance on Tuesday, after having already taken away the boy’s laptop, cell phone and having disconnected the Internet service in their residence in response to her son’s refusal to attend classes.

They had both recently moved from New York to Florida; the mother told police that her son “failed grades in New York for skipping school, as well as being in trouble with the law.”

The boy was arrested after he refused to leave his bed, telling deputies, “Do what you gotta do. I’m not going to school.”

He was later released from the county jail into his mother’s custody.
