FORT GORDON, Ga. — The Georgia Department of Corrections and the state chapter of the Army National Guard will be hosts for several law enforcement and public safety agencies at a military personnel career fair March 20 at Fort Gordon.

The event, which will last from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the post’s Army Reserve Center, will offer jobs with at least 10 organizations for military personnel returning from duty.

Participating agencies include the Georgia Department of Corrections, Georgia National Guard, Georgia Department of Defense, Department of Juvenile Justice, State Board of Pardons and Paroles, Department of Labor, Department of Public Safety, Mental Health Management, Georgia Correctional Health Care and the Gwinnett County (Ga.) Police Department.

The fair is free and open to active-duty and in-transition military personnel, National Guard personnel, reservists and veterans who register online at GDCjobs.com.

“Hosting these job fairs is a win-win for both the military and the Department of Corrections,” said State Department Commissioner Brian Owens. “By taking these job opportunities directly to our military men and women, we have access to a talented, capable workforce.”

The list of participating agencies is subject to change and will be regularly updated at www.dcor.state.ga.us.

The Department of Labor will provide access to job information and job counseling to applicants at the fair.
