CHICAGO — A Cook County corrections officer was killed Thursday night when her vehicle struck a pillar on the Dan Ryan Expressway, closing down all express lanes near the scene for about three hours, authorities said.
Angelina White, 41, of Chicago was driving north in the express lanes of Interstate Highway 90/94 when she lost control of her vehicle at 10:25 p.m. near 47th Street, said Illinois State Police Trooper Mark Hall. “She started losing control and went across all lanes to the right, hit the bridge abutment, and then went back across all the lanes and hit the cement median divider.”
White, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially thrown from her car, said Larry Langford, a C
