ANAMOSA, Iowa — An inmate at Anamosa State Penitentiary sent a prison guard to the hospital over the weekend.
That’s according to Department of Corrections spokesman Fred Scaletta (skuh-LET’uh), who’s says it’s a result of a “serious assault.”
Twenty-2-year-old Oscar Gonzales is accused of causing face and chest bruises to the corrections officer during a routine visiting search.
Scaletta says the inmate was quote — “restrained and laced in segregation.”
Gonzales is serving a 55-year sentence on several convictions, including three counts of attempted murder.
