ORANGE COUNTY — The corrections officer accused of pointing a gun at a renter is being disciplined by losing 36 hours of pay.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Laura Hindman, 49, was arrested in October but prosecutors opted to file no criminal charge against her.

Hindman was allegedly talking to a man who rented a room in her home in July when she got upset, grabbed a handgun and pointed it at him. A third person corroborated the renter’s account.

An internal investigation in the Orange County Correctional Department concluded that the event happened and that Hindman should be punished by being suspended for 36 hours without pay, which will cost her $630.

Hindman is currently on administrative leave.
