MIAMI, Fla. — A Florida state inmate is suing Maury Povich, the host of the daytime talk show ‘Maury,’ for having the inmate’s seven-year-old daughter on television without the inmate’s permission.
Alan B. Griffin accuses Povich of exploiting his daughter after seeing both the girl and his ex-wife on an episode back in 2010, reports The Guardian.
Griffin said his life went into “absolute turmoil” after seeing his former family airing their dirty laundry for all to see, and that he fell into a deep depression as a result.
Griffin is currently serving time for a second-degree attempted murder and sexual battery.
Griffin is seeking $100,000.
