KALISPELL, Mont. — An inmate is accused of trying to get his cellmate to kill his ex-wife and her victim’s advocate.

Inmate Matthew Heuer, of the Flathead County Jail, is currently serving time for criminal endangerment, according to NBC Montana. Heuer allegedly woke his cellmate up in the middle of the night to ask him to kill the two women.

The cellmate apparently told corrections staff and they put a wire on the inmate, which then recorded a 30 minute conversation between the two men.

The conversation included specifics on how Heuer wanted his ex-wife killed. A second taping finalized the deal, detailing how they planned to carry it out once they were both out of prison.

Heuer pleaded not guilty to the charges of solicitation of deliberate homicide, which carries a potential sentence of 10 years.
