GASTON COUNTY, N.C. — A Cherryville man already facing numerous drug-related charges is in more trouble now.
Gaston County police say Joseph David Tillman, 39, was charged Thursday with sexual battery, after he allegedly groped a Gaston County police officer.
According to the arrest warrant, Tillman grabbed the breast of a female police officer “for the purpose of sexual gratification.” The alleged assault happened in the county jail.
Tillman originally was arrested June 21 on eight different charges. He was being held under $200,000 bond, and $1,000 bond was added with the new charge.
