LINCOLN, Neb. — A Nebraska inmate pleaded no contest to manslaughter when a woman was killed after being struck by the prison van he was driving.
10 11 Now reports that Jeremy Dobbe was speeding and swerving before he struck Joyce Meeks’ minivan. Dobbe was transporting inmates as part of a work-release program.
He was already serving five to seven years for selling meth, and has now been sentenced to an additional 18 to 20 years in prison.
A judge gave final approval in March for Meeks’ family to receive a $2 million state settlement.
